On Tuesday 10 November 2009, James Hehir, Chief Executive of Ipswich Borough Council died. In this special programme I talk to the political leaders of IBC about their experiences of working with a great man who served Ipswich for twenty years.

Cllr Cenci gives her viewpoint on the possible closure of the Ipswich Caribbean Association. We also debate the Local Development Framework, and how the Council scrutinise themselves.

Cllr Andrew Cann is the Liberal Democrat Leader at Ipswich Borough Council. In this episode, we discuss the controversial Local Development Framework, the continuing unitary authority status saga and the success of the Liberal Democrats in local government.

Councillor Sandy Martin joined me in the studio this week, and we discussed the Ipswich Local Development Framework, the infrastructure of Ipswich's roads and the awaited announcement of the North Haven proposal. (Unfortunately due to issues with the recording equipment in the studio the beginning of the programme is missed).

In this week's programme we talk in length about Cllr Cenci's role as Communities Portfolio Holder and the Community Cohesion Report submitted in a recent Executive and Full Council. We also discussed Community Area Forums.

This week I was joined by two ex-Mayors of Ipswich, Cllr Roger Fern (Labour) and Inga Lockington (Liberal Democrat). We talked about a number of topics debated at the full council meeting held on the 24 June. Topics included the renaming of Ipswich Borough Homes, the move of the Mayor's parlour and the controversial establishment of some heart attack care outside of the County.

Clr Gooch is the Portfolio Holder for Environmental Services and in this weeks programme I talk with Cllr Gooch about a number of issues relating to her position, including street cleaning, recycling and the Liveability programme that saw thousands made available to the Borough for improvements to life in our town.
